Western Mass Tour 2006)
Written by Brooks Reeves
Directed by Dan Barnes (2006-2007) & Leta Tremblay (2007)
In The City That Cried Wolf Reeves has crafted favorite characters from nursery rhymes and fairytales into a film-noir style detective story with a contemporary political edge. Jack makes some startling discoveries while tracking down the criminal mastermind behind the murder of Councilman Humpty Dumpty; he uncovers dark plots, shady pasts, and nefarious schemes featuring the likes of bumbling cop brothers named Grimm, the excitable Madame Turkey Lurkey, and coroners Drs. Hansel and Gretel. Beneath the engaging plot and quirky sense of humor lies an examination of important modern themes, raising questions of justice, race relations, terrorism, and the implications of freedom.
